Our Company

The Company is built on the principles of providing reliable service.

Our diversified product range continues to grow by following trends, improving our standard products, and listening to the customer.

Our unique service has established our place in this industry. This allows us to make a distinctive and substantial impact for our clients.

We are very well respected in our field, and operate under the maxim of,

Big enough to cope – Small enough to care.

Having previously worked in the Service department of Martin Dawes (which became O2) I decided to form my own Cellular installation company.

Multicom Limited was formed in 1996, and cannot therefore be seen to be riding on the back of recent hands free driving legislation, and its business is almost exclusively based on a corporate client portfolio.

I am pleased to say that many blue chip companies joined me from inception, having been pleased with my service delivery at Martin Dawes. Many have remained to this day, as well as newer clients who have also retained SMP Cellular as their installer of choice over many years, these long time clients include:

Moto Services – Iveco Trucks – Midlands Co-op – SSP – CaparoTechnology – Blue Arrow Recruitment -The Impellam Group

Vehicles fitted include, prestige executive vehicles, to pool & fleet cars, trucks, and even hearses!

The secret of our success is that as we are fully independent, we are able to dispense totally unbiased advice on the choice of hands free car kits, to suit budgets, and even more importantly with current enhanced technology, - the appropriate kit for specific handsets and vehicles.

‘So often I hear complaints of car kits sold by airtime providers that are good on price, (or even supplied free, depending on how many handsets they provide you) but sadly often unreliable in practice.’

This is really annoying when your car can often be your office for hours on end.

All my highly experienced engineers throughout the country (many of whom have been with us from the beginning) regularly keep me informed of performance (good or bad) of all new to market technology and in car reliability.

This wealth of informative advice is passed on to clients as part of our service to enable them to make calculated choices when considering installations or upgrades of equipment or handsets.

This, together with much faster lead times for installation & service calls mean that most leading airtime providers are unable to compete in this area, as their primary aim is the sale & retention of high yield airtime contracts.

If we feel a system isn’t going to be 100% suitable for you, your vehicle, or your handset, we wouldn’t recommend it, we are after all interested in what is best for you rather than a particular brand.

Service calls to malfunctioning equipment eat into our margins and dent our reputation.

Contracts with cellular airtime providers, whatever they may tell you, do not normally tie companies to their choice of hands free equipment, so they will often supply you with equipment that is not new to market, and not always suitable for certain vehicles/ handsets, but IS suitable for them as a low cost inducement to sell or retain your airtime.

I am also able to offer a reliable efficient Tracker system for fleet vehicles which I would be able to discuss the economic advantages of operating such a system, eliminating unscheduled journeys, more efficient fleet planning and reducing overtime payments.

Hoping to be of service in the future.
